Service and Social Justice

BCCM invites students to become active members of their faith by offering opportunities to discover solidarity and work alongside the poor and vulnerable in society.  We offer one-time service experiences as well as a week-long service trip.

2012 Service and Immersion Trip
February 3rd – 5th, 2012

Because our two colleges have opposing spring breaks this year, we will be offering a NEW program for students.  PLUNGE is a weekend immersion within Billings to learn about key issues affecting our brothers and sisters in our own community.  This is a weekend-long commitment.  We will start on Friday evening around 6pm and be finished on Sunday morning by noon.  We will be staying at the St. Vincent De Paul Center overnight Friday and Saturday nights and be participating in various service projects and learning opportunities throughout the weekend.  This will be an amazing opportunity so be sure to check this out!  More details can be found below.

If you are interested in applying to be a trip participant, please read and print out the following two documents.  The “Overview” will provide a description of what to expect on weekend as well as what we ask of students in terms of participation.  The “Application” is what you need to fill out and return (by email or in person) to be considered for a spot for the weekend.

Check out what our participants said…

“I really valued the reflections we had each evening. They challenged me to rethink some of my prior assertions. I learned a lot just getting to know the group, whether it be their experiences, thoughts or actions.”

“Contrary to what I would like to believe, I often let my own self serving desires keep me from serving others. This trip gave me a glimpse of what is at stake, and expanded my knowledge of how I can serve others.”
